Obituary for Kristin Kaylene Young

Kristin Kaylene Young, 53, January 9, 1965-September 5, 2018, passed away last week after a brave battle fighting an autoimmune disease with her husband Pat by her side. Kristin was diagnosed with Primary CNS Lymphoma in 2011, with amazing strength and dignity she fought off the cancer, received a stem cell transplant in 2012 overcoming the cancer. Kristin was born in Los Gatos, CA, later she moved to Washington state were she graduated high school in Spokane. After high school she moved to Reno to attend nursing school at TMCC. It was during this time that she met the love of her life Patrick. They were married for 22 years and had been by each others side through everything. Kristin is survived by her husband Patrick William Young, daughter Kaitlinn Ashley Young, mother Colleen Malone Hulbert, mother in law Janice Young, father in law Thomas Young and extended family that loved her more than anything.
Kristin is preceded in death by her stepfather Gary Thomas Hulbert and her grandmother Helen Bliss Malone.
After graduating nursing school, Kristin went on to work for Washoe Medical center, Northern Nevada Medical Center, St. Mary's Hospital, eye surgery center, home health care and back to Renown Regional Medical Center where she worked till the present. Kristin enjoyed her work as a nurse but loved both the people she cared for and those she worked with even more, forming great friendships along the way. Kristin adored family and loved to plan for each and every coming holiday, great camping trip or simple game day to get loved ones together. She was a creative soul who sought to bring color into every life around her.
While our hearts are heavy from her passing, please come and join us celebrate her life with a memorial being held on Sunday September 16, 2:00pm at Red Hawk Golf and Resort.
