Obituary for Monica Renee Batchelder (Frey)
It is with profound grief that the family of Monica Renee Batchelder announces her unexpected passage into the hands of God on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the age of 48 years.
Born the only daughter to Peter and Patricia Frey, she grew up in Reno attending both Our Lady of the Snows and Bishop Manogue High.
Her passion for food, design and style led her to proudly earn a degree from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. There, she met and married Gary Batchelder and they were blessed with the joy of her life, John David (JD) Batchelder. Motherhood was her greatest gift and her love for JD will forever be inspirational.
Monica’s joyful and caring soul will be remembered fondly by her loving mother Patricia Frey, her son John David, her brothers, Bret Frey (Jami) and Luke Frey (Cory) and her nieces and nephews Rachel, Greg, Mason, Rylee and Reece. She is predeceased by her father, Peter Frey.
She is held dearly in the thoughts of her extended family and numerous friends.
Her service was held at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church on Saturday, July 7, 2018, a celebration of her life immediately followed. Please make any memorial donations in Monica’s name with the Northern Nevada Food Bank.
