Obituary for Carla L. Manson

It is with great sadness that the family of Carla Manson announces her sudden passing on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at the age of 56 years.
Carla will be forever remembered and loved by her husband, Gary Manson, by their children, Morgan and Coleman, by her sister, Debbie and by her niece and best friend Nichole. Carla will also be forever cherished by her many cousins, aunts, nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends.
Carla was born on October 13, 1961, in Garberville, California to Juanita (Sam) and Carl Coleman. Carla moved to Reno during her high school years.
At the age of 22 years, she worked as a legal secretary for Rex Huntley when he introduced her to his best friend, and the love of her life, Gary. They married the following year, and were to celebrate 33 years together this year.
After her husband worked as an associate at Ron Logar’s law firm, Carla helped Gary open his own law office in 1992. Gary credits the success and longevity of his law firm to Carla’s ingenuity and courage to begin something new. This is where she worked, with the help of her niece and best friend, Nichole Goodin for the past 26 years.
If you knew Carla, you knew the best words to describe her were kind and generous. She had a heart that was much bigger and stronger than the one she was given here on earth. Carla volunteered her time at Lemelson Stem Academy, where she worked with “Ms. Noel” and her kindergarteners. Carla would collect toys and Easter supplies all year long in order to lead the annual Easter egg hunt for the kindergarten class. Her Easter egg business will be fulfilled by family this year and the following years.
Carla enjoyed spending time with her family and was very enthused by camping with her trailer. As Carla and her husband were planning to finish a 45 year long legal career, they were planning several long trips with their trailer around the west coast. Carla loved to go on walks with her two Yorkies.
Carla was a mother to many. She considered being a mother to be her primary occupation. Gary and Carla brought several family members and dear friends into their home during their time of need. She loved and was loved fiercely. It brings her family great comfort knowing that she always held her faith in God and her family. We know that she is watching over us from a better place.
A celebration of life will be held on March 24, 2018 from 2-5 pm at the Silver Legacy in the Silver Baron A ballroom. All who can/want/need to be there are welcome.
