Obituary for William Vern Dyer

William Vern Dyer of Sparks, NV passed away February 12, 2018 from a brief illness. William (Willie, Billy, Butch) was born July 17, 1953 in Boise, ID to John and Lois Dyer. The third of six sons.
William lived in the Reno – Sparks area since 1964. He graduated from Sparks High School in 1972. Mr. Dyer was a retired chef. He had been employed with John Ascuaga's Nugget for more than 35 years at the time of his retirement.
Mr. Dyer had many interests, but his favorite was attending sports and activities involving his loved ones.
William never married but has a large extended family.
Mr. Dyer has four surviving brothers. John Dyer and wife Judy of Dracut, MA, J Pat Dyer and wife Sharon of Glasgow, KY, Joel and wife Susan of Sparks, NV and Vincent Dyer of St. Louis, MO. His brother Dennis Dyer passed away in 2012.
“Uncle Billy” is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who cannot all be listed here because Uncle Billy would have never put one in front of another. He loved them all equally.
William will be cremated without a service. A celebration of life will take place at 2 PM, March 11, 2018 at Walton’s Event Center located 600 W. 2nd St. in Reno, NV. William V. Dyer knew many people and touched many hearts throughout his life and we are asking that everyone who has had the pleasure of knowing him join us to share memories, love and laughter in his honor.
