Herb passed away on November 4, 2017. He was born in Bokchita, Oklahoma on September 17, 1937. The family moved to California and settled in the Modesto area. He graduated high school in 1955 from Modesto High. He went to work for Paul’s Drug in 1956. He moved to Pocatello, Idaho to go to Pharmacy School and graduated in 1971.

He moved the family to Nevada and made Sparks his permanent home. In 1989, he opened his first drug store, Burke’s Drug, in Sun Valley, Nevada. He would go on to open an additional store.

Herb loved his family and if you were lucky enough to be loved by him, you were also part of the family. He won numerous awards for his philanthropy in the community. He loved to hunt and fish and did so until he was 79 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Raynell, of 58 years; his daughter Robbin; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two daughters in law.

He is preceded in death by two sons, Curtis Ray and Guy Rance, and one daughter, Leslie Dyan.

A service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1:00PM at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery, 2700 North Virginia Street in Reno, Nevada.
