Obituary for William Wyatt Martin, Jr.

Wyatt also known as Dad, Corky and Muscles, passed in the company and love of his family on April 25, 2017 in Reno, Nevada.
Wyatt was a grand character, a father of seven, a husband, a United States Foreign Service Officer, a world traveler, and an independent spirit. The United States could not have been represented by a better person overseas.
His charisma, warmth, intellect, humor, kindness, expansive knowledge of topics from world politics to science and personal stories regaled those who had the good fortune to meet him. Everyone he met from children to taxi drivers to world dignitaries received the same amount of attention and sincere interest from this people loving person.
Wyatt was born in Pulaski, TN in 1929 to the late William and Maurine Martin. He had a great love and appreciation for women. His former wives, Antje, Cathy and Fiona survive him.
He raised seven children with so much love, respect, fun and adventure. All seven will be sustained in their grief by the power of his love and the incredible memories of growing up all over the world with this extraordinary father.
While Wyatt requested that there be no services held, we invite his friends to join us for an informal gathering to support each other in or remembrance of the happy impact he has had on our lives. Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10 AM at Walton’s Event Center, 600 W. Second Street.
Wyatt had great respect for the work of Doctors Without Borders. In lieu of flowers a donation to their cause would be welcome at 888-392-0392 or
