Obituary for Richard Kenneth Imrisek

Richard Kenneth Imrisek, age 81, passed away on August 18, 2015 at Renown Regional Medical Center surrounded by family. Richard was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend; he was an example of strength and faith.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 8, 1933 to Martin and Pauline Imrisek. He was the third of eight children.
He enlisted in the Air Force in 1950 where he served for 8 years until his honorable discharge. Soon after, he was employed by the electrical union in Chicago, Illinois.
He married Gloria DiBraccio in 1962 in Chicago, Illinois where they had four children. The family relocated to Reno, Nevada in 1973.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood Electrical Workers Union for 60 years. He was active in the church and served as a Eucharistic minister for numerous years, also serving the Senior Centers. He is known for his strength, hard work, and sense of adventure.
He was preceded in death by his mother Pauline, his father Martin, and his sister Eileen Fuller.
He is survived by his wife Gloria Imrisek, daughters, Natalie, Lisa Stocker (Jim), Michelle Kawalkowski (Cary), and son, Rich (Ellen). Richard's greatest pride and legacy were granddaughters: Kayla, Kendall, Kiera, Chloe, Amelia Grace, Kelsey, and grandsons: Christopher, Cameron, Coleman, and Samuel.
He is also survived by his brother, Martin and his sisters, Maryann, Dolores, Theresa, Patsy, and Lucille, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Walton's Funeral Home, 875 W. 2nd Street, Reno, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary being held at 6:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 on Monday, August 24, 2015 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 1250 Wyoming Avenue, Reno.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association, or the American Heart Association.
