Obituary for Adam Lee Yamron

Adam Lee Yamron
Adam Lee Yamron, of Virginia City, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014. Adam was 16 years old, and a Junior at Virginia City High School (VCHS) in Storey County, Nevada. He is survived in tremendous sadness, by his Father, Mark Louis Yamron of Virginia City; his Mother, Shara Lee Yamron and younger brother Alex Yamron, both of Reno. Zelda Yamron, Adam’s grandmother lives in Reno, and his Grandparents Robert and Arlene Patten live in Portland, Oregon.
Adam was born on June 19, 1998, at Washoe Medical Center in Reno, and grew up in Virginia City, where he attended Hugh Gallagher Elementary School, and Virginia City Middle School, and Virginia City High School. Adam enjoyed and excelled in all subjects; in August of this year, he was co-enrolled as a freshman at Western Nevada College in Carson City where he received both high school and college credits for core subject courses.
Adam embraced his musical talents at an early age and loved to sing and play instruments, eventually becoming adept at electric and acoustic guitar, baritone sax, clarinet, and piano. His music career began in school bands where he played saxophone and a number of other instruments as needed. Beginning with his freshman year, Adam was a cherished member of Silver Sound (VCHS choir), and was selected as the section leader for the tenors in 2014. Adam also sang in the Northern Zone Honor Choir selected by the Northern Zone Nevada Music Educators Association (NZ- NMEA). In 2014, Adam auditioned for and was accepted to the All-State NMEA Choir which performed in Reno, in April. Adam sang the National Anthem, at times a Capella and without amplification, for many school sporting events and was cheered by audiences for his courage and mastery of this challenging piece of music.
Adam’s family, friends, classmates and community are grieving their loss of this charming, accomplished and special young man. Adam loved sharing his talents, as well as nurturing and supporting his fellow students in their study of music and other subjects. Among his peers he is recognized as a leader and inspiration, but not just for his own talents and hard work, but for his humility and charity toward all. Among his family he was a beloved son and joy; a delight and loving soul.
A memorial service is being held Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 4pm, at Piper’s Opera House, 12 North B St, Virginia City, NV, 89440. Donations can be made in his name to Virginia City High School Music Department, c/o Karen Baum, PO Box C, Virginia City, NV, 89440.
