Obituary for Manuel Anthony Zabala

Manuel Anthony Zabala
Manuel (Tony) Anthony Zabala age 76 lived in Sparks when he went home with Jesus Christ his Lord on the morning of June 4, 2014 after a courageous battle with pancreas cancer, peacefully passed holding the hands of Angels who led him to Jesus and our Father. Tony was born in Fernley Nevada on December 26, 1937 to Sofie Bernal Zabala and Manuel Zabala. He attended Sparks High School and graduated in 1956 who went on to serve his country in the Army and the National Guard from 1958 - 1963 , after an honorable discharge, Tony went to work in the fencing industry for 50+ years, becoming well known with contractors or other business and residential owners he then became an owner of his own company A-Z Fencing for 54 years through-out the Sparks, Reno, and Carson City area. Semi-retiring in 2013 to his son Tony N Zabala Jr., Tony also enjoyed bowling, shooting a game of pool but his most fun time place was at the Copenhagen Bar in Sparks where he found relaxation with his beer and shots of tequila. Tony was also a member of Elks Lodge Reno, Nevada for 35(+) years. And when you didn’t find him on the job site or relaxing then on a warm day it was a sure bet to see him with his Rayban sunglasses on taking a cruise in his 1982 Corvette.

Tony is survived by his wife Anita Zabala of 48 years of marriage on July 24, 1966, his children Marian Cordova Zabala, Tony Zabala and Julie Zabala-Duenas, his grand children Anthony Cordova, Felicia Cordova, Michael Cordova, Evette Macias, Angelica Macias, Dylan Zabala, and Sergio Duenas, and 5 great grand children.
