Ernie’s parents relocated to central California when Ernie was young. He was adored in those early years by his teachers and classmates who loved his sense of humor, curiosity, and passion towards new endeavors. Eventually, Ernie settled in Big Creek, CA. Living in the Western Sierra Nevada Mountains from the age of 7-15 years marked a period of Ernie’s life, where he fell in love with the outdoors and being amongst nature. Building forts, hiking, fishing, and camping are the cherished times he spent with his sister. On family hikes, he was known to race to the top, as all the other family members lagged behind. With this abundance of energy, he also played basketball and baseball and was always surrounded by many friends.

He spent his teenage years in Bishop, CA where he easily made friends and his passion for music and politics flourished. Besides this interest, he had a tremendous amount of empathy and compassion towards others. When a friend, family member, or the world hurt, Ernie had a gift of being able to empathize, relate, and truly BE with that person during those times.

In 2004, Ernie moved to Sparks Nevada where he decided to pursue a career path as an electrician. While studying, and working, Ernie a music lover, would spend his free time attending concerts and pursuing his varied music interests. He shared special times with his mother, learning how to cook Ecuadorian food and inventing new recipes. Also, during this chapter of his life, he become an uncle and adored his niece and nephew like they were his own.
