Ronald Charles Cunningham passed away on November 26, 2018; 24 days after being diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. Ron was born in Oakland, CA on November 25, 1940. He joined the Coast Guard in 1962 and served until 1966 with one of those years spent in the Sahara, at a time when the UN was calling for the decolonization of the Western Sahara. Within weeks of his honorable discharge, Ron married Patricia Rose on February 20, 1966. His beloved wife of 52 years was by his side to his end.

Ron and Pat raised their family in the San Francisco Bay Area, where Ron had a successful career as a mechanical engineer. They then moved to Rocklin for continued career success and raising grandchildren, before retiring to Fernley, NV, where Ron enjoyed 4Wheeling through the Nevada desert, sharpening his artistic talents and engaging in the art community.

Ronald was an adventurer and traveled quite a bit for work and for pleasure. He loved off-roading and shared his adventures with travel blogs and pictures, his stories were even included in several Land Rover magazine editions. He was an incredibly talented artist and left us with quite a legacy in his artwork, including family portraits and beautiful cars. Most of all, Ron was a loving family man and he was a Super Hero to his daughters and his grandchildren.

Ronald is survived by his wife Patricia, his daughters Rhonda Hall and Pamela DeLong, son in laws Ben Hall and Brendon DeLong, and his grandchildren Allesandra, Scott, Victoria, Genevieve, Aidan and Lorcan.

Services to be held Friday, December 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial, Fernley NV.
