Barry Joseph Legenbauer, 66, of Reno, NV, passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2018.
Barry is survived by his wife Mary of 44 years, son Justin (Beth) Legenbauer, daughter Kirstine Legenbauer, sister Maureen Zunino, and loving grandchildren Carley & Dalton, nieces Sherelle Campbell and Viki Ellis, and extended family. Barry was preceded in death by his, parents, Walter and Edna Legenbauer.
Barry was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Barry was born in Susanville, CA to Walt and Edna Legenbauer. He was a graduate of Lassen High School. Upon graduation, he moved to Reno Nevada and joined the Carpenters Union Local #971.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was proud to serve his country from 1971-1975 aboard the USS Midway CV-41 and USS Coral Sea CVA 43, during the Vietnam war. Upon discharge he returned to Reno and continued his career as a union carpenter and retired after 35 years with the union.
As a devoted father, he coached his son Justin in Little League and Babe Ruth, and his daughter Kirstine in Softball.
Barry loved hunting, fishing, football and baseball. He was always out fishing, camping, and hunting. One of his greatest joys in life was being able to go hunting with his son and grandchildren. He enjoyed attending the Reno Aces baseball games with his daughter and long time, friend Gene.

Celebration of Life will be held on February 16, 2019 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at the North Valleys Community Center located at 8085 Silver Lake Road, Stead NV.
