John Wayne Atyeo, 1961 -2018, 57 passed away suddenly from a massive heart attack while working on October 29, 2018 in Reno Nevada.
John was born in Tennessee on February 8, 1961. He moved around a lot as a military family but eventually rooted in Reno. John attended Swope Middle School and Hug High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1978 and served 4 years with an honorable discharge.
John’s travels took him to Michigan until 2011 when he returned to Reno and reunited with his high school sweetheart Anita. Anita and John married Dec 12, 2012 and they lived life to the fullest, happier than ever.
John worked for Waste Management Residential, Recycle and Roll-off. John enjoyed life, loved the outdoors and looked forward to hunting elk and deer, riding his quad and racing his motorcycles. John purchased a few dirt bikes and rode free on the track. He even rode with his wife. John loved taking car rides around Lake Tahoe, as well as cruising Alaska and vacationing in Cancun and Hawaii. John enjoyed bodybuilding and fully believed in keeping fit and in shape.
John is survived by his wife, Anita Atyeo, daughters, Shannon Judd and Rachel Rakowski. Step-children Jennifer Bochenski, Michele Foley, Heather Bochenski and Ryan Lewis, 4 grand-children, Brodi, Anthony, Matthew and Izabelle. Sisters, Sharon Smock (Dennis), Debbie Hillygus (Roger), Tammy Breuninger (Clint) as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews and his pride and joy dogs, Moose, Blaze, Princess and Daisy.
John is preceded in death by his Mother, Rosemarie Atyeo, his Father, James Atyeo retired Marine Corps and RPD officer.
John was taken from us way too soon. May he rest in peace and forever be in our hearts. ALOHA
Services will be held at Ross Burke and Noble 2155 Kietzke Lane Reno, NV 89502. Public Viewing 11/03/18 2-4 pm and Service with full Military Honors 11/04/18 at 2pm. In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting Donations be made in John Atyeo’s name at any Bank of America, which will be donated to John’s favorite charities.
