Helen L. Torri was called to heaven on October 10, 2018, surrounded by loved ones in her daughter’s home in Reno. She was born in Chico, California on August 2, 1929. She lived in the Sierra
Valley for 63 years, owning her own restaurant business.
She was best known for her homemade pies and country cooking that she proudly served at the Corner Cafe in Sierraville, California for many years. The local community and tourists were always treated to good meals in a friendly, small town atmosphere.
She was the second oldest of six children. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers. She leaves behind four children, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.
