Obituary for Carlo Felix Rassu

Born at Saint Francis Hospital, San Francisco, July 16, 1920, son of the late Emilia M. (Lucchetti) and Salvatore A. Rassu.
His maternal great-grandparents (Milan) emigrated to San Francisco from Chile, circa 1849; and Lucchetti, from Castiglione, Italy; his father, from Sardinia, Italy; and mother, a first-generation San Franciscan.
Carlo was an alumnus of Alameda High. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, participating in invasions of Kwajalein Atoll and Angaur/Peleliu. Following his military service, he graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in Economics and was employed by General Engineering and Dry Dock Company, Del Monte Corporation and Levi Strauss & Company.
Upon retirement in 1986, he moved to Reno, Nevada, and enjoyed traveling and working on handyman projects around the house.
Carlo will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Nanna; and his children, Edmund, Jeanine (Jimmy), Christopher (Karen) and Marietta (Rick), to whom he was a devoted father; as well as five grandchildren, David, Nicole, Vincent, Connor and Justin.
The entire family would like to thank Saint Mary's Hospice and Amada Senior Care for their assistance in helping allow him to remain at home.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Snows on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 with the Rosary being recited at 12:30 followed by a Memorial Mass at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers you may make a charitable donation to USF San Francisco or The Veterans Wounded Warriors.
