Kathy J. (Leach) Wormington passed away at the age of 70, Wednesday, September 12, 2018, after a long battle with heart complications. She passed away peacefully at Northern Nevada Medical Center with her husband, Billy Wormington, and two of her sons, Mark and Dan Jennerjohn, by her side.

Born in San Jose, California on September 1, 1948, she grew up in Watsonville, California. Later she moved to Santa Cruz, California where she would meet her husband, Billy Wormington, and marry in 1981. They would eventually move to Sparks, Nevada in 1996. Kathy had numerous jobs in Santa Cruz at a cannery, Holiday Inn, Wrigley’s and the County Bank. After moving to Sparks, Nevada she worked at the Nugget Casino, Little Bear Chidcare Center and eventually retired from Saint Mary’s Childcare Center.

Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the casino, working in her garden and going to thrift store. In 2008 she adopted her puppies, Charlie and Shiloh; they were her pride in joy.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Billy Wormington; her 3 sons: Rich Jennerjohn and his wife Denise, Mark Jennerjohn and his wife Kellie, Dan Jennerjohn and his wife Carla. Her grandchildren: Jacob Jennerjohn, Alyssa Andrews, Ryan Jennerjohn and Ian Jennerjohn. She is also survived by her siblings: Betty Wilson and Irene Brewer; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Fredrick Donald Leach and Jean Johnson; her siblings: Bill Leach, Barbra Durkin and David Leach.


Per Kathy’s wishes there will not be a memorial service.

Kathy was loved and will be missed.
