Obituary for Dorla Dean Barton

It is with great sadness the family of Dorla Dean Barton announces her passing on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the age of 71 years old. A native of Reno, Dorla was born at St Mary’s Hospital, attended the original Billinghurst Middle School and was a proud member of the first graduating class of Wooster High School in 1964. Dorla was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend and always put everyone’s needs above her own. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 32 years Randy, her children Jeffrey (Kathy) Kinder and Kristi Croney, her sisters Vicki (Jesse) Williams and Jamee (Mike) Bieber.
For the last twenty-three years, truly the light and center of her life has been her three grandchildren: Joshua Kinder, Colby and Cambria Croney. Dorla enjoyed bowling for many years and attending her grandchildren’s soccer and baseball events. Although she initially had little choice, she developed a love of the game of baseball, was an original and ongoing season ticket holder of the Reno Aces and traveled annually on baseball trips with Randy, Jamee and Mike, although she probably enjoyed the friends she met at Aces ballpark and the chance to see the country more than the baseball.
She was an avid reader and was close to her sister Vicki, enjoying her phone calls, texting and words with friends. She also enjoyed going to the Peppermill to meet her cousins Georgia and Robert to play the Buffalo and three card poker. She loved going to Hawaii, Palm Springs, San Diego and Central California, Dorla had an extensive network of the Landaburu and Sobrio families throughout Nevada and Northern California, including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, spouses and their offspring. Dorla loved them all and would have wanted to list everyone, but there isn’t enough newsprint (computer space) to do that, but she was especially close to her aunts Nancy and Alma and her cousins Julea and Janice. She also enjoyed the periodic “Auntie” lunches and family reunions. Through marriage she developed lifelong relationships and friendships with her Barton siblings, her Kinder step-children and the Puccinelli’s. She had also maintained many Wooster High friends, and work colleagues.
Dorla was predeceased by her parents Bert and Jerry Landaburu. She was truly a kind and special person.
