Gardnerville, NV-On July 10, 2018 Dana Edward Orgill lost his fight from injuries he sustained from a motorcycle accident. Dana was born January 14, 1949 in Murray, Utah to Ralph N. and Pearl Blair Orgill. He grew up in McGill, Nevada and graduated from White Pine County High School in Ely, Nevada in 1967. He graduated from Westminster College in 1973 with a degree in History and Political Science. In 1978 he joined the Salt Lake City Police Department. During his time with the police department, he held many positions including those in leadership. His favorite was being a member of the motor squad. He helped form the domestic violence unit and traveled state wide teaching the law to many other agencies. He retired as a Lieutenant on February 15, 2005 after 26 years of serving with honesty, dignity and integrity.

Dana enjoyed reading, taking jeep safari trips to Moab, golfing, riding his motorcycle and working on staying in shape. Music was also another one of his loves; he had an extensive collection. He also enjoyed watching British mysteries and comedies. Dana could pull one of many one liners from the comedy movies he enjoyed. Above all else Dana loved his family and held dear the time he could spend with his wife, kids and grandkids.
