Obituary for Mollie Blicharz

Mollie Robertshaw was born on May 12, 1942 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. She spent her early years in Liberia, West Africa where her Father worked for the Firestone Rubber Company. At age nine, she returned to the U.S. and lived in the Akron, Ohio area where she went to school in Cuyahoga Falls and finished high school in West Richfield.
She graduated from Penn State University with a degree in secondary education, although she never taught school. Mollie worked for the U.S. Government for 30 plus years, first as an auditor for the Air Force and then as an auditor/agent for the Internal Revenue Service.
Her first husband was her college sweetheart, Don DeLuca, from whom she was divorced in the early 1970's. The second lucky guy was Joe Blicharz to whom she was married until her death. She met Joe at the IRS in Manhattan, NY and they were married in 1975.
Mollie and Joe transferred to Reno, NV with the IRS in 1979 and spent the balance of their careers here. Both were happily retired. They were lucky enough to have a son, Andrew, in 1981 who was the joy of their lives.
Mollie was active in the Our Lady of Snows Church and the Twentieth Century Club. She enjoyed traveling, reading, bridge, crocheting, and playing games on the computer.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:30 on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the Walton's Events Center 600 W. 2nd Street.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations on Mollie's behalf to Reno Cancer Foundation, 1155 Mill Street, Reno, NV., 89502
