Obituary for Samuel “Sammie” Orion Hall

Samuel “Sammie” Orion Hall
Samuel “Sammie” Orion Hall (17 months) of Reno, Nevada, returned to his Father in Heaven on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, having lived a courageous life with Tay-Sachs Disease. Sammie was born on January 23, 2017, in Reno to Scott and Anne Hall.

Sammie was a happy and sweet child who brought joy and love to his family and to those who knew him. Sammie lived a beautiful and full life. Without saying a single word, he inspired people to be a kind to others, to be strong in the face of adversity, and to treasure the simple joys of life.

Sammie will be dearly missed by his parents, his older brother Ezra, and his older sister Ruby, of Reno; Grandparents Craig and Lynette Allen of St. George, Utah, and Glade Hall of Sparks; Great Grandma Wanda King of South Jordan, Utah; and 14 aunts and uncles and 26 cousins in Nevada, Idaho, Utah, and Wisconsin. Sammie was preceded in death by his older sister Daisy Rachel Hall and his Grandma Maggie (Margaret A. Fowles Hall).

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mt. Rose Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4751 Neil Road, Reno. Arrangements are under the direction of Ross, Burke & Knobel Mortuary, with interment at Mountain View Cemetery, where Sammie will be buried next to his sister Daisy.

The family expresses sincere gratitude to the many friends and family members whose prayers, love, and service have blessed and sustained them and Sammie during the past 17 months. Particular thanks to Dr. Mellum for the expert care and delivery of Sammie as he was brought into this world; to his pediatrician Dr. Althoff; and especially to Sammie’s hospice nurse Nichole and Dr. Magboo at Circle of Life Hospice for their compassionate and dignified care given to Sammie at the end of his life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the In-Home Respite Program at Eagle Valley Children’s Home, 2300 Eagle Valley Ranch Road, Carson City, Nevada 89703, (775) 882-1188.
