Condolence: I just heard of Laurie's passing. I worked with Laurie at both NAMS and West Hills. Her clients were lucky they had her to share her version of "tough love" with her humor, insight and sense of honesty and candor. I will miss her wonderful wit and being queen of the one liners-her stories were epic! Forever in my heart........

Condolence: Laurie was a courageous woman. She had the courage to say what she thought and stand behind what she said. Although dedicated to her work, her girls and grandchildren were the loves of her life. When Liam was born something bloomed in Laurie, if there were such a thing as 'service babies' (as in service animals) and Laurie had been allowed to bring Liam to work with her, her health and well being would have been off the charts. Laurie's style with her clients was a combination of tough love and encouragement. Some clients complained, and some returned to thank her. I suspect that many more were hearing Laurie's voice when that magic moment came and they were ready to clean up their act. Laurie isn't a presence to be forgotten, I'm grateful I had the opportunity to know her. I wish that more of us could be as honest and giving as Laurie always was.

Condolence: I went to Reno High School with Laurie for 3 years, not having known her previous to that. Laurie had the most wicked sense of humor that she kept for as long as I knew her. As an exploration geologist, I would commonly stop by Laurie's place at Frenchman's Flat on Highway 50, where I met her kids. She and I shared a birthday month, only two days apart. Bless you, Laurie, you were always one of my favorite people.

Condolence: I am truly sorry for your loss, please accept my sincere condolences. I hope the Chealander family will find some comfort and strength in Jesus promise of the earthly resurrection and the renewed Paradise earth, where death is an enemy that will very soon be eliminated forever, and no family will mourn the death of a loved one . This promise has been given by Almighty God Jehovah. Truly, what a glorious and almost unbelievable day that will be! It's a reality though for God cannot lie.

Condolence: I had worked with Lauren for years in my capacity as a prof. guardian. She was smart, witty, capable, and my go-too girl whenever I needed help to make sure the right action was taken. Although we worked together professionally, we always talked about our families. Her stories regarding her girls were always full of love amid a mother's frustration and laughs. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I will miss running into her and hearing the latest on her adventures with her family and whatever passion she was involved in. I know she was well loved by her family and friends, but I also know she was respected and cherished by those she worked with in the community.
