Lido Tognoli passed away on Saturday morning, March 17, 2018 at Rosewood Rehabilitation in Reno. He was 79. Lido was born in San Francisco, California on April 15, 1938 the son of Albertino and Dorothea Tognoli. He attended Capuchino High School in San Bruno, California. He served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He moved to Yerington in October of 1976 where he worked at RC Market in produce for 24 years, retiring in April of 2000. He was an active member in the Holy Family Catholic Church and the Italian Catholic Federation. He was passionate about singing in church with his wife Joerene. He loved music and played the accordion and piano. He was a past member of the Lions Club and had volunteered at the Lyon County Museum. He was loved dearly by his family and friends and will be missed.
He is survived by his wife Joerene of Yerington; his sons, Steve (Pamela) Tognoli of Las Vegas, Dennis (Jennifer) Tognoli of Reno; his daughter Luanne (Donald) Wertz of Yerington; his grandchildren, Leslie Pace of Reno, Morgan (Krysta) Brethauer of Yerington, Cordero (Cynthia) Nuanez of Temecula, Stephen Tognoli of Las Vegas, Breanna Tognoli of Seattle, Kascia Tognoli of Las Vegas, and Emma and Meghan Tognoli of Sherwood; his great grandchildren Justen Brethauer, Christopher Brethauer, Aurora Cox, River Brethauer, Hunter Brethauer, Teagan Lister and Charlotte Nuanez.
Rosary will be held April 12th at 7:00 pm at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, April 13th, 2018 at 11:00 am, followed by a celebration of his life at the Catholic Center.
