Athlete, WWII Navy veteran, and father, Mike Orlich passed away after a brief illness on February 17 at the age of 91. Born in Chisholm, Minnesota to Serbian parents, Mike came west in 1954 working for Harold’s Club until 1960, then entering the real estate business. From 1978 to 1999 he lived the good life at South Lake Tahoe where cocktail hours on his deck were legendary. By 1999 he tired of shoveling snow and moved back to Reno for good.
He is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Dora Orlich, son Michael M. Orlich, first wife Barbara and second wife Carol. He is survived by his daughter Joy Orlich of Reno, step-son Mark Beauchamp of Ukiah, CA, brother Dan Orlich of Reno, and sisters Eugenia Hartig of Omaha, NE, and Euphemia Zahringer of Sedalia, MO plus numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at 11am at Walton’s Funeral Home:875 W. Second Street in Reno. A reception will follow. The family invites you to leave a condolence message on the book of memories at: www.waltonsfuneralhomes.com.
