Obituary for Lt. Colonel Compton James Gault, Jr.

Lt. Colonel Compton James Gault Jr., 73 of Reno passed away peacefully. Friday, February 16, 2018 due to a massive heart attack, he was surrounded by his family and friends. Born July 22, 1944 in Oakland, CA, he was the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gault. Compton was a graduate of Oakland High in Oakland; he also attended various colleges, including: Oakland City College, Merritt College, Chabot College, UC extension in Berkeley and UC Extension in Davis. He also went to Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, KS. His military Background included 38 years of service in the United States Army (9 Nov. 66 – 19 Sept. 2004). His military education included: Basic and advance training in For Lewis, WA. Officer Candidate School in the United States Army Field Artillery and Missile School, For Still Oklahoma, Officer Advance Course also in Fort Sill. Transportation Officer’s Course in Fort Lee, VA and Special Courses Logistics & Readiness in Germany. Compton also received various awards; one of them being his induction into the United States Field Artillery OCS Hall of Fame (21 May 98) AT Fort Sill, OK. Compton worked for Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit) as a Manager of Special Projects; Allied Barton for the Washoe County Courthouse as a Security Officer; and the Atlantis Casino Resort as an Assistant Security Manager.

Lastly, Compton loved his family unconditionally and genuinely. He worked very hard to support his family and always brought joy to them. The most important thing for him was to keep his family happy, feel loved and protected all the time.

He is survived by his loving wife Janet; three children: Justeane, Shania and David; his sister, Lynn Lewis; several nieces and nephews; and his family in the Philippines.

Funeral Services will be held at the Northern Nevada Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Fernley Nevada on March, 2, 2018 at 11AM.
