Obituary for Jean Marie Lusetti Hill

On January 10, 2018 the angels came for Jean, 78, to reunite her with her parents Richard and Concettina Lusetti.
She was born on December 3, 1939. When Jean was a little girl her family moved from Ely, Nevada to Reno, where she would live the rest of her life. She graduated from Saint Thomas Aquinas and Bishop Manogue High School.
Jean had a creative soul with a lifelong passion for decorating. She was known for her handiwork and even created the decorations for her daughters’ weddings. You could always tell which gifts were from Jean by the gorgeous bows and wrapping.
Jean was a devoted daughter. As her mother grew older she became her primary caregiver. Jean’s dedication to her mother and family was one of her most admirable traits.
In 1989 Jean was blessed with twin grandsons and became a proud “Grammy”. In her eyes the boys could do no wrong. Jean would be the first one in line fighting to get the season’s hottest new toy. She patiently talked to her grandsons about anything they wanted and made it a priority to be part of their lives. Jean always went above and beyond for her grandchildren and loved them deeply.
She was an animal lover and a mom to various dogs and cats throughout her life. Jean had room in her heart for even the orneriest of pets.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Wheeler (Kevin) of Brentwood, TN and Dawn Fune (Todd) of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Richard Wheeler (Anne) and Zachary Wheeler (Carly); Uncle, Gabriel Perry; as well as many other family members.
Services will be held Friday, January 19, 2018 at 10:00 at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, 1138 Wright Street, Reno, with burial at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Walton’s Funerals & Cremations, 875 W. Second Street, Reno, NV 89503.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jean’s name to the Nevada Humane Society, 2825 Longley Lane, Suite B, Reno, NV 89502.
Mom, you were a loving Mother and Grammy. We were blessed to have your light in our lives and will miss you every day. We love you to the moon and back!
