Obituary for Lois G. Robinson

On August 26, 2017, at 1:00 a.m., Lois G. Robinson transitioned from this life into the next attended by her daughter, Christine Robinson.
Born August 28, 1924, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, she travelled with her parents many times across the United States. As a Kappa Delta from Bethany College, Bethany, West Virginia, she achieved her Bachelor’s Degree in English; a degree she was to use all her life as a copywriter and media director for advertising agencies in Los Angeles, culminating as Media Director for the prestigious Grant Advertising Agency on Hollywood and Vine, Los Angeles, California.
Lois married twice: in 1953 to Hudson Stephenson of Bridgeport, Connecticut and in 1957 to Sidney W. Robinson, long-time attorney of Reno. While married to her husband Sidney, and after his death, Lois travelled extensively with special loves for Greece, Italy, Spain, Mexico, the British Isles, Hong Kong and Australia.
Lois was an avid swimmer, skier, and horsewoman. A 32-year member of Toastmasters International, at 85 she concluded her membership “to spend more time with her boyfriend.” She particularly enjoyed the diverse educational classes at the University of Nevada and OLLI. A cultured lady and patron of the arts, literature and music, particularly opera, classical, western, Mariachi and Dixieland.
She is survived by her daughter: Christine A. Robinson; her step-sons: H. Sidney Robinson, Michael C. Robinson, Denis B. Robinson and Andrew E. Robinson; and step-daughter, Becki Gentry. Special thanks to all her caretakers, friends and family.
October 1, 2017, her Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 p.m. at 5-Star Premiere Residences of Reno; 3201 Plumas Street, Reno. Call 415-381-3451 for details.
