Obituary for Melba Aubele Holderman Lappe
Melba Holderman Lappe left us on Thursday, August 24, 2017 to join her beloved husband, Orville L. Holderman. She is the youngest child of Max and Clara Aubele. Born and raised in Ogden, Utah she graduated from Holy Cross School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
Melba loved her career in nursing and worked at Elko General Hospital, Washoe Medical Center, as a rural health nurse for the State of Nevada, and as an administrator for the Northern Nevada Cancer Council, once known as Angel Kiss.
After her husband's passing she met and married Robert Lappe of Phoenix, Arizona, whom she cherished and enjoyed her last years on earth. She and Orville were long time Reno residents and both contributed a lifetime of education and service to their community.
They were blessed and are survived by their children, Brent P. Holderman and wife, Denise, Mark S. Holderman and wife, Robyn, and Jill C. Holderman and husband, Carey Crist, her husband of 13 years, Robert Lappe, along with seven grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who will miss them until we meet again.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church, Reno, NV. on Friday, Sept. 1, 2017 at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
