Obituary for Sarah Estelle Jones

Sarah E. Jones peacefully passed in her Reno home of 46 years on Sunday, July 23, 2017. Sarah, known as “Sally,” was born on December 8, 1921, in Winder, PA, to Paul and Gladys Shearer. She married Ord Jones which began her adventure as a Navy wife traveling the world. After the passing of her husband in 1970, she moved with their two daughters to Reno to be close to her family.
Sally was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Lt. Ord Jones, her sisters, Shirley and Norma, and her brother, Paul. She is survived by her daughters, Leslie Daane and Linda Rippingham, sister, Jaynie Andersen, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Walton’s Sierra Chapel, 875 W Second Street, Reno. Burial to follow at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery.
