With the County Health Department he progressed from restaurant inspector to hazardous materials unit manager. With the Army he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He also acquired a Masters in Public Administration, attended Command and General Staff College, and wrote the book: “Is It Safe To Eat Out?.”
Upon retiring, Tom moved to Reno. He became active at Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church and in the Knights of Columbus.
