Obituary for William "Bill" Michael Tessler

William “Bill” Michael Tessler, 80, of Reno, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 at South Meadows Renown Hospital due to complications from a brief illness.
He was born May 28, 1937 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Reno, a fact that he was proud of. Both of his children, Tracy and Trent, and two of his granddaughters were also born at the same hospital.
Much of his youth was spent growing up in Hillsborough, California, later returning to Sparks, where he attended Sparks High School, and the University of Nevada, Reno.
After attending law school, he returned to Reno and served time in the Nevada Air Guard, and worked for both the Nevada Department of Transportation and the Assessor’s office. However, his real love was his 40 year career as a Real Estate Appraiser working with Kimmel and Associates.
Bill enjoyed traveling to work in outlying areas such as Winnemucca and Elko just to name a few. His favorite road trips were to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Montana, Banff, Canada, and the Palm Desert area. He also enjoyed golfing with his stepfather, Harry Brown.
Bill is preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother, Georgina Brown, both of his stepfather’s, Harry Tessler and Harry Brown, and his aunt, Marion Solari.
He is survived by his wife Neva, his daughter and son in law, Tracy and Joel T. Glover, their children, Claire, and Cate; his son and daughter in law, Holly and Trent W. Tessler and their daughter Ellie; and his cousin, Marion (Devere) Barker.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Bryan Young, Marci Hayes RN, and all the staff at Renown’s Premier Care; the nursing staff at South Meadows, Renown’s Emergency Department, and the Intensive Care Unit, and the staff at Manor Care for all of the exceptional care, time and patience they provided Bill and his family.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
