Before moving to Reno, NV after 8th grade graduation, Katie resided in Santa Rosa, CA with her mother and attended school in the Gravenstein School District in Sebastopol, CA. Katie enjoyed many extra activities but her love of life was with family and friends. Friends who instantly became family. A family of many. Her teacher spoke so eloquently of her at her 8th grade graduation with words of encouragement for all to be inspired by Katie. She lives in the hearts of many and touched their lives with her infectious smile.

A second service will be held on July 8th at 11:00 am at Pleasant Valley Mortuary in Sebastopol, CA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any US Bank for the "Katie Weingartner Foundation", which is a non-profit for the benefit of students in need with examples of characteristics of which Katie portrayed.
