Obituary for Steven M. (Max) Vialpando

Steven M. (Max) Vialpando of Reno, Nevada passed away on April 10, 2017.
Steven M. (Max) Vialpando was born on July 26, 1931 in Chama, Colorado to Manuel A. and Frances R. Vialpando. Steven lived for 9 years in southern Colorado until moving with his parents and siblings to Wyoming in 1940. Steven was lovingly called Max by his family.
Steven attended schools in Rawlins, Wyoming, graduating from Rawlins High School in 1952.
As a young man, Steven enjoyed snow skiing and served for many years on the Ski Patrol in Wyoming and was a ski instructor in Nevada and an avid golfer.
Steven married the love of his life, Peggy Klitsch on March 15, 1986. Their greatest joy was traveling across the country visiting family and friends.
Steven was a very successful Insurance Agent for Metropolitan Life for 40 years, successfully achieving the “Million Dollar” mark multiple times during his career.
Steven is survived by his loving wife Peggy; sons: Steven of Englewood, CO, Gregory (Julianne) of Aurora, CO, Michael of Tucson, AZ; 3 grandchildren; sisters: Madeline Gonzales of Rawlins, WY, Marie Hoffshneider of Laramie, WY, Martha Vialpando of Cheyenne, WY, Lucille Lujan and Gerri Ortega (Joe) of Colorado Springs, CO; his brother James Vialpando of Thornton, CO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Frances Vialpando; an infant brother; brothers-in-law, Jerry Armijo, Ervin Hoffschneider, Eloy Lujan, Juan Herrera, and nephew, Vincent Lujan.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, April 17th, 2:00 pm at Walton’s Sierra Chapel on 875 W. 2nd Street, Reno, NV 89503. Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Walton’s Funerals and Cremation or online on the Book of Memories Guestbook at: waltonsfuneralhomes.com.
