Obituary for Pauline Dieterle Young

PAULINE DIETERLE YOUNG passed away March 21, 2017, at her home in Carson City. Born in Lamar, Colorado to George and Mary Dieterle, Pauline was one of eleven children. She served during WWII as a Private First Class in the US Marines repairing combat aircraft. Pauline and her husband, Joseph (Joe) Young celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on March 3, 2017. They lived in San Diego, Missouri, and Arizona before moving to Dayton, Nevada a decade ago. Her careers included aircraft inspector, beautician, and Real Estate Broker. She was an artist enjoying knitting, crocheting, sewing, needlepoint, and oil painting. She loved having a garden.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents and son William (Bill) Ernest Young II.
She is survived by her loving husband Joe; two sons Jonathan (Lisa) of Dayton, Nevada and Jared (Christina) of Yuma, Arizona; five grandchildren Jared Ryan Young (Kelly), Daneel Young Carnley (Chris), Kyle and Kevin Young, and Marysa Perwein; and four great grandchildren Ryan Lee Young and Steven, Luke, and Eli Carnley.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 31 at 11:00 a.m. at Walton’s Funeral Home in Carson City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Pauline’s name to the Veterans Guest House in Reno (www.veteransguesthouse.org). The family will also be donating crocheted afghans lovingly crafted by Pauline to the Veterans Guest House.
