Krysten Cheri Waalk, 25, of Sparks, Nevada, passed from this life into an eternity of joy and peace with our heavenly Father after a fatal car accident. She was born in Reno, NV to Angela Cheri Sommers and David Waalk. Krysten was an honors graduate from Reed High School; earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno, and was initiated into the Phi Alpha Honor Society of Social Work. Krysten was full of joy and love as she offered endless time and support to numerous community and humanitarian causes throughout her lifetime. Krysten was engaged to Jericho Crockett and they were to be married September 9, 2017. She worked as a Qualified Mental Health Associate and Case Manager for both Atlas and SP Counseling Centers. Krysten’s joy was realized through her amazing selfless spirit that was hallmark to her ever kind, compassionate and empowering love for others. She brought light and love to whomever she touched and leaves a legacy of being the “change she wished to see in the world.” Krysten touched so very many people from every walk of life and in her every endeavor in education, work and her pursuit of life, laughter and love.

Krysten is survived by her fiancée Jericho Crockett, mother Angela, father David, brothers Dakota (Vanessa) Neel, Logan & Brian Dottei, her grandparents Diane Sommers, Richard and Marilyn Waalk, as well as numerous extended family and precious friends.

Krysten’s amazing and beautiful life will be celebrated on Saturday, March 11, 2017 beginning at 11:30 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1900 1st Street, Sparks, NV. Visitation will be held Friday March 10, 2017 from 6-8pm at Ross, Burke & Knobel Mortuary, 1538 C Street, Sparks NV. Her burial will be at 2:00 pm at Mountain View Cemetery followed by a celebration of Krysten’s precious life, her love and wonderful compassion for all of those she touched.
