Nina Ann Karrasch passed away January 23, 2017 surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born to John and Martha Hair on April 3, 1923 in Vernal, Utah. Upon graduating from Uintah High School she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she attended and received degrees from Excelsis School of Beauty Culture and LDS Business College. She met her beloved husband, Kern, in Portland, Oregon when visiting her brother Boyd who was Kern’s roommate while they attended dental school. Nina dedicated her life to serving her family and loved ones. Her delicious home cooked meals will never be forgotten. One of her favorite holidays was Easter where she was known for her mastery in hiding eggs and Easter baskets for her grandchildren and extended family. As a wife, mother, grandmother, auntie, sister and friend, she was known for her cheerful and forgiving personality shown through selfless acts. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as a missionary in the Western States Mission from 1944 - 1945 and served in other positions including Relief Society President. She is described by her family as humble, loving, classy and above all selfless.
