Obituary for Samuel Wentworth Zentner III

Samuel Wentworth Zentner III, age 64, passed away at his home in Reno, NV on July 18, 2015, following a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Emily, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

A gifted drummer, he traveled the United States in his younger years, playing with various bands. Some of his bandmates were his own close-knit brothers. Their tales from the road are myriad and entertaining.
Samuel had a passion for the game of paintball. He founded a team called “The Marauders” during the several years he lived in Aptos, CA. The true and loyal friends he made during that time remained forever in his heart and he spoke of them often.

Samuel was a kind and generous man who gave freely of his time and talents. He had a great love of animals, both wild and domestic. He will be sorely missed by family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Walton’s Funeral Home, 875 West Second Street, Reno on Friday, July 24th at 4:30 pm. There will be a Celebration of Life immediately following at the home of Mark Wolverton, 1391 Coachman Drive, Sparks, NV 89434.
