Craig Robert Uhland passed from this life on August 15, 2012 after a brief battle with colon and pancreatic cancer. He was 59. A celebration of Craig’s life will take place on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Hilltop Community Church, 3588 Romans Road, in Carson City. A luncheon will follow.

Craig was a long time resident of Carson and Smith Valleys and the proud father of three daughters, Audrey, Emily, and Rachel. Born in Woodland, CA on February 6, 1953 to Robert and Carolyn Uhland, Craig graduated from Whittell High School in 1971 and U.C., Davis in 1977 working for the U.S. Forest Service until he pursued a life-long and passionate career in the construction industry.

Craig was known for his commitment to excellence and talent as a true craftsman building many custom homes, small commercial projects and remodels in Carson Valley, Tahoe, Smith Valley, Carson City, and Reno. Every project, big and small, Craig pursued with excellence, attention to the finest detail, and the hope that the work of his hands would bless those he served.

Craig was an avid outdoorsman, loved hiking, fishing, and hunting. He loved nature and marveled at God’s creation. By far, the greatest love of Craig’s life was for his family, for his daughters. He was most proud of his three girls. Finally, his faith in the Lord Jesus was reflected quietly and ultimately in his kind and gentle character.

Craig is survived by his three daughters, Audrey, Emily, and Rachel Uhland; his father and mother, Robert and Carolyn Uhland and brother Tim Uhland of Roseville, CA; sister and brother-in-law Pam and Mike Giordano of South Lake Tahoe; sister Jill Uhland of Myrtle Beach, SC; as well as nieces and nephews and their families.

Although the family would appreciate flowers, it was Craig’s wish that donations be made to his daughters’ education fund at Bank of America, Acct. #501012627831, Shawn W. Uhland in trust for Audrey, Emily, and Rachel Uhland.
